NDIS Funding & Incontinence
NDIS funding for incontinence should be a conversation that you have with your NDIS planner or Local Area Co-ordinator (LAC). The correct preparation and information for this meeting is essential. If your incontinence is stable and well managed then you can talk to your planner how your existing product needs will allow you to meet your goals for the planning period. You can provide historic information for your planner regarding preferred products and the quantity used every month or year.
If your needs are changing or your existing product is letting you down a Continence Assessment could be of real benefit. Many Planners will allow funds in your plan for a Continence Related Assistive Technology Assessment where our Continence Nurse Specialist will assess your requirements and provide a report as to how your goals can be met, updating your management and product accordingly. This assessment results in a thorough management plan for your continence management for the next 1-2 years plus a comprehensive product quote for your needs over the same time, ready for your planning or review meeting.
